A warm, unhurried cut that leans into restraint and space, THINK BACK sees Melbourne/Naarm duo Glass Fountain pushing into a more relaxed, soulful lane while staying true to their unmistakably spontaneous approach. Built around a swirling vocal hook and live drums and bass, THINK BACK weaves gently pulsing electric piano, synths and percussion, letting space and atmosphere lead the way.
Featuring the expressive keys playing of guest Hong Yang, a veteran of Melbourne’s forward-thinking jazz scene, THINK BACK unfolds slowly, balancing mood and momentum. It’s reflective without drifting, understated but deeply intentional, a track that rewards close listening as much as it does casual immersion.
While the palette is smoother and more spacious than previous releases, Glass Fountain’s core ethos remains intact. Everything is performed live, with no laptops in sight, analogue hardware, modular synths and samplers meticulously synced and shaped in real time around the rhythmic foundation of drums and bass.
